Laser Thread Vein

Overview

Using the Advanced Laser Technology eob can successfully treat skin types 1-4 on the Fitzpatrick scale for thread veins and spider veins removal.

Facial thread veins are small superficial red, purple or blue veins that can be found around the nose, cheeks and chin. These broken veins occur when the vein dilates and become larger, so they are then visible through the transparency of the skin. These common Veins are also found on the legs and with our FDA approved Medical-Grade laser we can treat veins up to 1mm n diameter. Larger veins will require other treatment options.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The focused laser light selectively targets the problem vein, which is damaged but still connected to the blood supply. Laser energy is absorbed by the blood vessels, heating them up to the point where they are destroyed without affecting the surrounding tissue, by cutting off the blood supply after which the vessels are naturally absorbed by the body.

HOW LONG WILL RESULTS LAST?

In most cases, results of Thread Vein Removal is long lasting and can be permanent but new veins can occur especially for clients who have a tendency to facial redness. So in these cases future treatment will be required.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Typically clients need up to 3 treatments, however treatment does vary depending on the area being treated. Some see a change in just 1 session with veins looking significantly paler but for best results treatment should be continued until thread veins have completely faded.

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE THE RESULTS?

3 to 4 weeks post treatment fading begins to show and finer veins disappear. For facial treatments we recommend 4 to 6 weeks in between sessions and 8 to 12 weeks in between leg vein treatments.

HOW DOES IT FEEL?

Treatment is mildly uncomfortable but there is no need for anaesthesia. Most would describe it like an elastic band gently snapped on the skin or a slight stinging sensation but only during the laser session.

AM I THE RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR VEIN REMOVAL TREATMENT?

It is essential that you determine exactly which type of vein disorder you have so it’s important a consultation is done prior to determine all factors which can affect the outcome. Laser can treat superficial blood vessels, broken capillaries, thread veins and spider veins.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT AND ARE THERE ANY RISKS INVOLVED?

Risks are minimal and permanent side effects are very rare. Immediately after treatment the area may feel hot as if having mild sunburn, which normally disappears within a few hours. Mild bruising may appear which also disappears within 3 to 14 days but all are entirely normal. In rare cases skin can temporarily become lighter or darker.

As we are not affecting the surrounding tissue there is no downtime with this treatment and most can usually continue with normal activity. We recommend no exercise for up to a week post treatment.

There should be no sauna steam or any treatment that will cause over heating of the skin for at least 48 hrs.

Before and during treatment, sun exposure should be avoided and a minimum SPF 30 must be used during the course of treatment.

If having leg vein treatment, support stockings may be found helpful directly after treatment.

Mineral make up can be applied directly after facial treatment.

BEFORE BOOKING A VEIN TREATMENT

a) Area must not of had sun exposure in the four weeks prior or post treatment.
b) Consultation must be done to determine contra-indications, including medication.
c) Not to be taking any anticoagulants e.g. Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E.
d) No history or current Varicose Veins.
e) Happy not to exercise for up to 1-week post treatment.
